As I have not been been reading anything, I thought I will pick a teaser from an old read of mine. I have read this novel several times and it still remains one of my favourite reads. I read it first in 1984. My copy is yellowed and much loved.
This following paragraph is about the vet and a bull. The vet had come to treat the bull of some ailment:
There was no malice in his behaviour - he was simply having a comfortable lean against the board and I don't suppose he even noticed the morsel of puny humanity wriggling frantically against his rib-cage. And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, Bill (the bull), started to rub himself up and down against the partition. So that was what he had come round for; he had an itch and he just wanted to scratch it.
~page 38, Vet In Harness by James Herriot
I think I will re-read it. It might get me out of the slump!

What a delight I have not read James Herriot in many decades. Well done. My TT: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/10/teaser-tuesdays-a-despicable-profession.html
I love the image I have in my mind now from that teaser! Poor vet :( He's being smooshed!!
Here's my TEASER for this week
I haven't read any of the James Herriot books for years, but used to love them.
They always seemed to make me feel happy and sad, at the same time.
I don't know if you can remember the TV spin off "All Creatures Great And Small". That too was always on my 'to watch' list.
Somewhere, I have a large 'Readers Digest' tomb, which I believe is a compilation of the stories, I must try and find it, you have made me want to read them again.
Gautami, there is an award for you on my blog
It always amazed me how Herriot could make dire situations like this sound humorous.
My teaser is here.
I used to love these books and the TV show as well. Great teaser!
Here’s My Teaser
Hi Gautami, its so good to know that you are a fellow fan!
I love his short stories that make up wonderful books....and just like you, each book is a great re-read.
Happy TT.
P.S. thanks for the heads up about the direct link to blog - I had no idea :)
Have always liked Herriott. Hope it get you up and running again!
My teaser: To Surrender to a Rogue
I have the 4 or is it 5 hardback collections now, you know "All Creatures Great and Small" etc. but I just love those old Pan paperbacks. They remind me of my grandma. If she wasn't reading a Mills & Boon (Harlequin, over here) romance she had one of those Pan Herriot's in her hands.
Reading slumps are terrible. Hopefully reading an old favourite will help you get out of it!
Thanks for visiting My teaser.
Seems a book I might want to read, thanks!
My teaser.
Too funny!! I like it!!
Here's my Teaser: Coffee and a Book Chick -- Teaser Tuesday...

Oh yes, you need to re-read it. How funny that your teaser is teasing you back into reading it! I enjoy Herriott books. I haven't read many, but the books I have read have all been gently humorous and sweet books.
I love James Herriot books, I have never read this one, I don't think I ever heard of it. It is going on my TRB list right now.
Thanks for the visit today.
Love it! Having been on the receiving end of a horse doing something similar, I can kind of sympathize! Luckily I had a little more control over said horse than he probably did over the bull! lol! I need to read some James Herriot, I think I have the Creatures Great and Small series around here somewhere.
Thanks for visiting my TT today!
I first read one of James Herriot's books in 8th grade, and completely fell in love with him. Thank you for reminding me of how much I enjoy his books!
