Mailbox Monday has moved over to She Reads and Reads, for the month of October.
I received four books, in the past week, thanks to the authors/publicists:
1) Velocity by Alan Jacobson (Crime Fiction)
2) Out at Night by Susan Arnout Smith (Crime Fiction)
3) Cry Ohana by Rosemary and Larry Lidd (Crime Fiction)
4) The Weight of Shadows by Alison Strobel (Women's Fiction)
And lastly, I bought:
5) The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I read two books for the 24 Hour Readathon:
1) Grace Under Pressure by Julie Hyzy
2) The Weight of Shadows by Alison Strobel
I will be reading
Stieg Larsson's The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
In regards to books, reading, the publishing industry, etc… What are you most grateful for? Why? Have you ever done anything to tangibly show your appreciation?
All I do is, read! And review, discuss. Not much else! Maybe I should send out letters to the publishing houses, showing my appreciation. Should I? I am not sure! What do you say?!
I'm surprised at how much I accomplished. Here's what I'm reading this week.
Glad to see you've got your reading mojo back. I have Stieg Larsson's trilogy waiting patiently for me :-)
Have a great week and happy reading!
I need to get through the rest of the trilogy by Stieg Larsson, I think my issue was the first one really took quite a bit out of me.
I'd like to read The Weight of Shadows...I'll be watching for your review.
Hope you enjoy your reading!
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson? Is that book 2? I won that one but haven't started it yet.
What a nice week! I have the first by Stieg Larsson on my Kindle but haven't had a chance to read it yet. My Monday Report is here. Happy reading!
You had a good week and some lovely books. Enjoy Stieg Larsson's book. Have a great week reading. My Monday can be found here: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/10/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-1011.html
I keep reading good reviews of Larsson's books.
I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and truly enjoyed it but still need to read the other two in the series. Hope you have a great week!
Velocity is asbsolutely fabulous!!
But make sure you've read the book that comes before it "Crush" as Velocity is a direct sequel and picks up right where Crush left off.
Glad you got out of a slump.
I'd like to do the 24 hour readathon sometime.
I've heard good things about Velocity -- hope you enjoy it!
Two books in 24 hours sounds great! So the slump has ended - that's good, too. Hope you enjoy all your reading this week!
Hornet's Nest is really good and I hope you like it -- my Monday is here: http://bibliosue.blogspot.com/2010/10/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_11.html
I really enjoyed the The Girl Who...series by Stieg Larssen -- but I think I really enjoyed the first one the best! Can't wait to read your thoughts on it!
Here's my Mailbox: Coffee and a Book Chick -- Mailbox Monday...
I'll be interested to see what you think of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Happy reading and thanks for commenting!
I've been meaning to read the first in Stieg's series and haven't yet. WIll have to look into them! Have a great reading week.
Writing letters to the publishing industry is an interesting idea. I like it a lot. It's always nice to know people appreciate what you do, and not just the end product of what you do (if that makes sense).
Congrats on finishing a couple books during the read-a-thon. Enjoy The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - I've heard lots of good things about it.
Glad you were able to get out of the reading slump for the read-a-thon! Good list.
