After reading 21 books in September, October had a slow start. I simply couldn't get into that reading mood. I did start a lot of books but somehow couldn't get around finishing those. I had only managed to read 5 books until the readathon. In those 24 hours, I read 6 books and two more, subsequently, which took my total to 13 books. I am not displeased with myself, although I could have done better! Now I am only 16 short of my goals of reading 150 books. Hope I manage that. Lately I have been in low spirits, which is not conducive for reading. Yesterday I watched a lot of movies on TV, which is a rarity for me.
Given below are my October reads. I am yet to write reviews for 7 of those. I think I will do that in the next couple of weeks.

I also concluded the RIP IV challenge, which I have posted in RIP IV Wrap-up.
I don't plan to join the NaNoWriMo. However, I will continue writing poetry. And reviews.
I plan to finish Cult Insanity by Irene Spencer, which I had left in the midst as Irene had promised to send Shattered Dreams. That arrived yesterday. I will read Shattered Dreams first and then continue reading Cult Insanity.
What am I reading today?
The Midnight Charter by David Whitley.
What about you? Are you satisfied with your October statistics? And what great book/s you plan to read today?

13 books is still a lot of reading done. Especially when you consider it not a good month. I hope for next month you'll feel better and accomplish your reading goals.
Sorry you're in low spirits - my reading mood varies a lot, sometimes nothing satisfies, followed by a period of great books. Hope your reading picks up. I read 10 books in October - more than usual.
My reading for today is in my Sunday Salon post see here.
You had a great month, despite what you think, and the quality of your reads was great as well. I loved A Brutal Telling, and that 72 Virgins sounds really good.
I'm sure you can manage 16 books these next 2 months.
Seems like a lot of people had a slow recovery from the readathon! But I agree, 13 books is still a pretty good month!
Nice list of books. Here's my weekly wrap up at Sunday Salon
Sorry you've been feeling down. I think we all hit those bumps in the road now and then, but I'm sure you'll get through 16 books in the next two months!
I hope your spirits lift! I know that sometimes you just have to watch some tv or take some down time to get back in the mood for reading. I hope you get some good rest and relaxation time.
last year was my biggest total reads at 101 I had 3 deaths this year and my whole life changed so I feel I am doing well with my reading although it's only about half as much.. i've learned it's not the numbers but how much I do or don't enjoy the books...but over 100 is always a plus *smirk
I bet you make your goal! (choose short books? I rec Mister Pip and The Whale Rider) Happy November.
You read 13 books? That's awesome in my book! But then, I don't even remember a month in which I read over 20 books ever since I started university :-(
I think you did really, really well, so please don't feel bad! :-)
You accomplished a lot last month! Congrats!

You did a great job too. I don't think this up coming month will be as good. I hope to do about 30 books. Right now I am at 17.
