I'm with you on #10 and #13, and you've a few great books there that I can't wait to dive into!
I recently read Three Men on a Bummel by Jerome K Jerome - it was great. Haven't read Three Men on Boat yet. How is Cellist of Sarejevo?
We do have a lot in common! I really am going to try and read Gone With the Wind again, it's on so many lists but I just couldn't get on with it. Happy BTT!
Although not on my list I agree with 1, 2, 10, 16 & 18. Numbers 6, 9 and 20 are on my list. It's too hard to stick to 15!
Apart from the dickens,if I've not read those they are on my tbr list! The solitaire mystery should have gone on mine really! I loved that.
A lot of classics in your list Gautami. I've heard Sarah's Key is good and I remember your review being especially favorable to the book. It's already there on ym wishlist.

Great list! I almost put "Gone With the Wind" on mine, too. I guess it's hard for most people to stick to just fifteen books. I could have gone on and on!

I think that I am the only one who doesn't have ANY classics on their lists! Maybe because we had to read them in school I just didn't enjoy them. I am definitely in the minority!

Great list - I have read several of these - loved Gone with the Wind and To Kill a Mockingbird. I will have to read The Kite Runner since I have seen it on several lists.
Have Fountainhead and To Kill A Mockingbird. Really enjoyed Handmaid's Tale as well.

This is an excellent reading list, one that would prepare you for college. The fact that classics stick with their readers is probably the main thing that makes them classics.

A Tale of Two Cities kept popping into my head too but I didn't add it. I should have. I own a copy of Sarah's Key and haven't read it yet. I need bump it up my tbr list.

I notice a lot of people listed their favorite classic books that stick with them the most. I have read from your list, # 4, #8, #6. Those were great books!
I'm tempted to try The Book Thief, since I heard lot about that book. Also I have The Kite Runner in my TBR pile but just haven't read it yet :)
