Literary Blog Hop: Must Read before the World Ends

Literary Blog Hop is hosted by The Blue Bookcase. If you features book reviews of literary fiction, classic literature, and general literary discussion, you too can join in!

This week's question is:

What one literary work must you read before you die?

For starters, I am not in a hurry to die! And I have read most of the Classics in while I was in High school and college. The ones I left out I don't really want to read.

But yes, I will speak of poetry here. I want to read all the works of the following poets, not in any particular order:

1) W. B. Yeats
2) Percy B. Shelley
3) Robert Burns
4) Robert Browning
5) Lord Byron
6) John Clare
7) John Keats
8) Samuel Taylor Coleridge
9) Robert Frost
10) Sylvia Plath

There are lot more. Of course, I have read many too. Poetry for me is like breathing to live!

You have some wonderful poets in that list and many I would love to read the entire works of as well.

Most of 'em the Romantics...and then others...that's a lovely list. And I'd have loved to have read ALL their works if I was a poetry person...as it is, I do enjoy reading something once in a while. Keats is my favourite!:D

Poetry is a great choice and normally the route I would go, except this time, i went for a book about books & reading.

I really want to make more of an effort to read poetry soon. This is a good list for me to start with.

I probably should read some more poetry too before I die -- your list is an excellent start.

Some excellent choices!! I didn't even think of poetry when I was contemplating the vast amount of work left to read. Ah, Shelley. I love that guy. Grost too.

Very good list here. I am not well-versed with many of them (yeah, bad pun intended) and this week I chose an area that I am sorely lacking in my reading...

I really commend you for picking such fantastic poets. I have the worst time reading poetry and feel like i'm missing out.

Wonderful choice. Keats is brilliant, and I'd add his letters to the list.
