I see my books

magical realism, historicals.
yet my mind refuses
to pick any.
I enjoy the readingless days
writing poetry
or short fictions.

Nice poem to express your sentiments. It's summer and that means vacation to me.
Sometimes we just need a break! Nice words express the feeling.
Well put. Even the most avid readers have days when the words won't go into the eyes...I always think that you have to miss things to truly appreciate them so a reading-free day (or week or whatever) means you'll appreciate your books more when you get back to them. And you will.
