Sunday Salon/The Sunday Post: The fortnight was was

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Someone cut the cables on 20 June, 2014 and hundreds of phone lines were down for a week. We got it restored on 27 June, 2014. I had no net access at home. I could use my data on phone but that is not convenient to blog or facebook and the likes!! A good neighbour gave me the password of their wifi but it had no range at my place. I could use it on the corridor though!! So my net access was restricted to checking/answering important mails. We are SO dependent on the net and we take the wifi for granted!!

I did not use the time to read either!! We had seminars for 4 days, add to that, going to school for admission process. And I ended up tired!! I watched a lot of mindless programmes on TV. That only reinforced my views that who needs a new LED TV?!! Not me, never me!!

The following are the post links in the past fortnight:

Ugh, no wifi?!! That absolutely sucks. I remember how grateful I am for it everyday, lol. I live in a really blessed country, that's for sure. Happy reading!

No wi-fi here neither, but I like it that way, only cables. If we want to use our portables phones, we have to go up... to the cemetery, lol, our village is in a small valley. Have a better week ;)

That must be criminal! You did pretty well even with that! We have had to use data during long periods when the power is down from storm but no power line = no cable = no internet. Writing a post on an ipad is a pain in the butt.

No wifi sounds horrible.
I went without an Internet for like 8 months at home when I moved to my place for university - the previous tenants had not cancelled their Internet and the whole thing was just a big mess. I hope I never need to go through at again.
Have a good week!

I'd rather read then watch most TV. But I like the music reality shows and CNN!

You had an eventful week!

So sorry to hear your internet was down. It always amazes me how much I rely on having instant access!

Oh dear, what a nightmare LOL we realise than how much we miss it. I don't use my phone for internet a lot neither. I do have an iPhone but I've learned very quickly that my allowance gets eaten up very fast. Glad to see you back :)

I go crazy when my internet slows down, not having it for days would leave me unhinged. Sorry you had to go through that.

Hope this week is better!
