Top Ten Most Intimidating Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted over at The Broke and the BookishEach week, we get a theme to list our top tens.

This week's Top Ten pick : Top Ten Most Intimidating Books

In this, we will see almost the same books listed in blogs. I have read all except the last one, which I found boring!!

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri
The Art of War by Sun Tzu
The Illiad and the Odyssey by Homer
Beowulf
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings series by JRR Tolkien
Moby Dick by Herman Melville
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
Ulysses by James Joyce

SO

I am NOT listing any of the above. I am not exactly intimidation by the following but I kinda abhor the following. Hence my list:

Paranormal fiction involving werewolves etc
Dark Fantasy
Horror
Vampires
Chick Lit
Erotica
Self Help Books
Combat treatises
Black Comedy
Gamebooks

Funny!
No one should be intimidated by books :)

Ah, that list is interesting, as I've loved many of those on the first list, and I like some of the second...though not the erotica, self-help, combat treatises, and gamebooks

I have some of the books on the first list! We shouldn't be intimidated by books but many of us seem to be!

I've read The Divine Comedy in high school & I loved it :D I've wanted to re-read it since then, but haven't. I've also read The Hobbit & the LotR trilogy, as well as Romeo & Juliet (I think I read more of his plays in school, but I don't remember which ones).

Nice twist on the list prompt. Yes, I have to agree....I don't like any of those genres either!

I hated Beowulf in school. I'd like to go back and re-read it to see if maybe I'd like it this time.

I would definitely recommend Anna Karenina, it's not a book for me, but I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Great twist on this week's TTT, I read most of the titles you've listed there. I forgot to add Joyce's Ulysses on my list--don't think I'll be getting around to that one any time soon!
