Booking through Organization/From the Review Pile

btt button
How do you organize/store your books? Do you go through them often? Or do you pretty much just shelve them and then leave them alone until you need them?

I am not very organized about shelving my books. I keep my books very haphazardly. But I have a photographic memory. So I know where each one is shelved. That makes it easy for me to pick one that I want. But I mention here, I do keep my poetry books separate from the others.

Yes, I am a hoarder like any other book lover. But what has that got to do with shelving?!

From the Review Pile is a meme hosted by Stepping Out of the Page every Thursday. The aim of this meme is to showcase books that you've received for review. (or any book that you own and really want to read/review) but haven't yet got around to reading, in order to give the book some extra publicity.

The Prophet by Ethan Cross

Synopsis:
OLD ENEMIES... Francis Ackerman Jr. is one of America's most prolific serial killers. Having kept a low profile for the past year, he is ready to return to work – and he's more brutal, cunning, and dangerous than ever.

NEW THREATS... Scarred from their past battles, Special Agent Marcus Williams cannot shake Ackerman from his mind. But now Marcus must focus on catching the Anarchist, a new killer who drugs and kidnaps women before burning them alive.

HIDDEN TERRORS... Marcus knows the Anarchist will strike again soon. And Ackerman is still free. But worse than this is a mysterious figure, unknown to the authorities, who controls the actions of the Anarchist and many like him. He is the Prophet – and his plans are more terrible than even his own disciples can imagine.

With attacks coming from every side, Marcus faces a race against time to save the lives of a group of innocent people chosen as sacrifices in the Prophet's final dark ritual.

Ha-ha..love that you separated the "hoarding" issue from the organization....

I sort of know where my books are, from memory; but I also alphabetize within each shelf of "read" books. Here's MY BTT POST

At one time, my books were very well organized, but not anymore. I really need to take them all of the shelves and re-do my shelving system. It would be a huge job, though.

I shelve my books and read them according to the mood I'm in. I am not a hoarder I give my books away after I've read them.

Oh,lucky you! How I'd love to have a photographic memory! You must tell us whether this helps overall or not!

I'm a hoarder as well, sometimes I just want to know I own a certain book and don't have to read it. I don't have a photographic memory, but I do know where all of my books are! My poetry books are randomly spread through my prose! Thanks for sharing :)

A photographic memory comes in handy with a lot of books around.

My books are a bit unorganized now because I have more books then space. I am pretty good at remembering where I put my books. I also hoard books but I am going to be letting some go soon.

A photographic memory...something I could put to good use. Can't wait to see your thoughts on The Prophet, am almost done reading it.

I came across this book only recently on goodreads. It sounds like something I would enjoy... Looking forward to your review of it!

Even though many of my review books are filed haphazardly, I do know where they are....but the poetry is shelved separately

You can never have too many books and as long as you know where they are then all is well.

I'm so jealous of your photographic memory. I think my memory is crap lately.
