Mondays: Mailbox/What Are You Reading?/Musings

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at A Girl and Her Books. This month it is hosted by Metroreader.

I received one book, thanks to authors/publicists
Love Thy Neighbor by Mark Gilleo

Clark Hayden is a graduate student trying to help his mother navigate through the loss of his father while she continues to live in their house near Washington DC. With his mother’s diminishing mental capacity becoming the norm, Clark expects a certain amount of craziness as he heads home for the holidays. What he couldn’t possibly anticipate, though, is that he would find himself catapulted into the middle of the terrorist operation. As the holiday festivities reach a crescendo, a terrorist cell – which happens to be across the street – is activated. Suddenly Clark is discovering things he never knew about deadly chemicals, secret government operations, suspiciously missing neighbors, and the intentions of a gorgeous IRS auditor. Clark’s quiet suburban neighborhood is about to become one of the most deadly places on the planet, and it’s up to Clark to prevent the loss of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives in the nation’s capital.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila of Book Journey

I read a few e-novels

I am in the midst of reading:

The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly

Do you read books that are part of a series?
• Do you collect all the books in the series before starting? What if the series is brand new, and the only book that’s been published so far is Book one? As subsequent books in the series are published, do you go back and re-read the preceding books?

I sometimes read books that are series. Many a  times those are also stand alone and can be read in any order. I definitely do not go around collecting books in series to read at one go!

I just finished reading The Fifth Witness last week.

I do read series, but am not a collector of them.

I'm quirky about series: I don't care what order I read books in.

(I was the same way about math in school, taking Trig before I'd finished Geometry.)

I read books in series too. I used to be a fanatic about reading them in order, but have had to give up on that. Enjoy your new book!

I read a few series, but I find I have to read them in order, and I like to wait until a few books are out, so I don't have to wait too long if I want to continue.

Sounds like an interesting book! Hope you enjoy it.

I don't read too many series, but I don't collect them beforehand. I prefer series with standalone books, too.

I read some series books but I don't collect them. Actually I find I often burn out on them if I try to read too many at one time, especially if they are all about the same character (Mitford books come to mind).

Hi Gautami,

This sounds like an intriguing book. I just can't imagine what it would be like in reality, to have terrorists operating just across the street from where I live! This is my kind of book and another for the reading list.

I don't really read a complete series of books, at least not in any sort of logical order. If the individual books work as stand alone stories, then that's okay by me, but if you really do need to read all the books in a series to reach a conclusion and ending, then that's not really for me.

Enjoy your book, I would love to know your thoughts about it.

Have a great week, Yvonne
