“Could you lend me the money for the bail?”
I was not taken aback. I long ago lost track of how many clients hitme up for bail money. This might have been the highest amount so far,but I doubted it would be the last time I was asked.

Love Thy Neighbor by Mark Gilleo

• Do you read books that are part of a series?
• Do you collect all the books in the series before starting? What if the series is brand new, and the only book that’s been published so far is Book one? As subsequent books in the series are published, do you go back and re-read the preceding books?
I sometimes read books that are series. Many a times those are also stand alone and can be read in any order. I definitely do not go around collecting books in series to read at one go!

I look out for good analytical reviews, the redaers own views. Those don't have to of the same genre. I like a mix of reviews, personal posts. I like memes too. Not much for giveaways nowadays.
I like uncluttered book blogs which only has book related contents.

I love novels with strong influence of espionage and intelligence. Terrorism is an international issue and LePore has dealt with it very well. In fact he does it rather well, in all his novels.
Matt DeMarco is a lawyer and his estranged son Michael is charged with rape and murder of his Girl friend Yashmin. Debra, Matt's ex-wife is married to a rich Syrian, who seems to have links with Islamic terrorism. Matt has to save his son, who seems to have been set up. When the investigating officers are killed one by one, Matt knows he has to do something about it. This takes him into deep, murky world of revenge, terrorism and killings.
Given the prevailing situation in Syria and the Arab world, I found the novel engrossing. The characters are well developed. And grow on us. Evil is personified very well. I liked the underlying plot. I look forward to read more novels by James LePore...

Have you ever read a random book left in a waiting room or on a park bench, etc., and did you like it?
I once saw a book left in the airport lounge but did not pick it up because of a lurid cover!! It looked like a trashy novel. Someday, I do wish to read a "found" novel. However, I have left quite a few novels at various places. I Don't know where those ended up despite leaving my phone number in the back cover!!
