Musings/It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

Hosted by Rebecca of Just One More Page..

Are you a reader of war books? And if so, do you have any favourites?

I do read war books. Mostly about WWII. That too about the holocaust. I think every book that deals with the holocaust has to be read by all, however painful it might be. We have learn the history and knowledge gives us the power to prevent such atrocities. Ignoring an important part of history does not help in any way. At least not to the human kind. Here I recall only a few of what I have read:

1) Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
2 Man's Search for Meaning by Victor E Frankl
3) The Diary of Anne Frank

Hosted by Sheila of Bookjourney

I finished:

The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom
Taste Of Cherry by Kara Candito: Poetry
The Journey Home by Michael Baron
Tomorrow River by Lesley Kagen

I am in midst of reading:

The Memorist by M J Rose
O' Juliet by Robin Maxwell

I posted reviews of:

Pieces of Sky by Kaki Warner
Kafka On the Shore by Haruki Murakami--A repost
Taste of Cherry by Kara Candito: Poetry
Greater Love by Robert Whitlow
Open Country by Kaki Warner

I have scheduled reviews of:

In the Wake of Boatman by Jonathon Fuqua
The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson
The Cutting by James Hayman

Your books sound wonderful! I loves Sarah's Key! While I am not a big fan of war books I am surprised how many have that topic these days and have wondered into my books!

The Kitchen House has caught my eye. Have a fantastic week!

Kafka on the Shore is the coolest book. I read it last year, I think, and really enjoyed it. Then again, I don't think I've read any book of Murakami's that I didn't like, especially Wind-Up Bird Chronicles. I'm glad to see another Murakami fan.

You should add Resistance by Anita Shreve to you list. It's a lovely story. I need to reread it.

the more I think about it, there are a number of books I have liked that were set during a war, but I really do not seek out that setting and would not consider myself a war book "fan".
actually. I am not really a fan of most historical novels... ;-)
