Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at A Girl and Her Books. She is the host of MM for the month of October.
I received TWO books in my mailbox, thanks to Hachette India/poet:
1) The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling:
When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock.
Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty facade is a town at war.
Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils... Pagford is not what it first seems.
And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?
Blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising, The Casual Vacancy is J.K. Rowling's first novel for adults.

Nothing! To know the reason for NOT reading, do check out my Sunday post!!
I am in the midst of reading:
Suzy's Case by Andy Siegal

What distracts you when you really “should be reading”? ;)
Social Media, Blogging and Television distract me....These are not in any particular order. Then job/work also comes in the way of reading!!

That's a huge book! There were no galleys of it in the US. I can't wait to see what you think of it.
Can't wait to hear what you think of The Casual Vacancy. It was on display at the book conference I attended on Saturday.
Hope you can stop by my blog to read my post about the book conference I attended in New York City this past Saturday.
A giveaway is also directly below my Mailbox Monday post.

A great book to get this week, enjoy!
I've been debating whether to run out now and get the Rowling book or to wait and see what people think of it. I'm pretty sure running out to get it is going to win. ;-) Happy reading this week!
I've seen alot of readers with Casual Vacancy on their haul list this weekend!
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Congrats on the promotion, and I agree blogging distracts me from reading also.
Thanks for your visit today.
The Casual Vacancy sounds good. Hope you love it! Have a great week and happy reading!
Yup I could be reading right now.. and last night I was watching new TV shows instead of reading.. but there comes a time when we don't always have to have our face in a book, right??
Congrats on the promotion!
Here's my Monday post.
job, ok.
But 'social media' should never keep you from a book. that is just wrong... :-)
Social media is definitely distracting. I think any form of talking about books is distracting. lol Thanks for stopping by.
I've seen a few blogs with The Casual Vacancy today. I never read the Harry Potter books so I'm waiting on reviews for this one.
Enjoy your books.
My favorite book this week was Dr. Seuss: The Cat Behind the Hat by Caroline W. Smith. Please come see what I'm reading now.
Meaning of Me looks interesting.
Yes, social media pulls from reading time but then it is sharing time so that's good too. :-)
I hope this week is good for you.
