The Heart is a Lonely Hunter has been on my shelves for years!
I wouldn't even know where to start to figure out which have been on my shelf the longest!
I can recommend both Marquez books and Heart is a Lonely Hunter. I think Love in the Time of Cholera is wonderful.
I've had East of Eden on my TBR shelf for over tens years, myself.
I've been clearing shelves so not too many books on my shelf, but certainly more that I care to admit. Great top ten though, I'm sure you'll get to them soon.
I don't even want to think about the books that have been lingering on my shelves.
Sophie's World has been on my shelf forever too....
She's Come Undone is a good one. It is on my all time favorite list.
Of your top ten, I have six on my shelves that I haven't read yet and one of the other four I've read (She's Come Undone). I guess I think they'll be there whenever I'm ready!
Oh, I need to read Shantaram too!
I have Sophie's World is on my shelf but I didn't add it to my list because I haven't had it that long. It looks good - I can't wait to get to it.
I've not read any of those!

City of Fallen Angels is also on my shelf - I want to reread the others before I read this one!
Some of the books on your list I've tried & tried to read but have given up on (the two Garcia Marquez novels)
I also have Shantaram in my TBR pile.
I've had Sophie's World and She's Come Undone on my shelves for years, waiting to be read.
I really liked Shantaram.
