God* comes to you and tells you that, from this day forward, you may only read ONE type of book–one genre–period, but you get to choose what it is. Classics, Science-Fiction, Mystery, Romance, Cookbooks, History, Business … you can choose, but you only get ONE.

What genre do you pick, and why?

I will choose to read only mystery books. Those keep me hooked and there is a lot of sub-genres in mysteries. Thrillers, Suspense, Cozy mysteries etc etc. Infact there are historical mysteries, romantic mysteries, kitchen mysteries, to name only a few. One can safely say that mystery genres have everything in them. They don't get repetitive!

What a tough question! I don't know what I'd pick.

Tough question indeed, though I so thoroughly enjoy mysteries and completely agree that there are so may genres and variations that it could be the best choice. Just finished "The Ovary Wars," by Mike Hogan, featuring an interesting terrorism premise: unknowing sterilization of American women, leading to economic collapse because no one is being born. It features the Rosenbloom family, heading from prosperity to poverty; baby selling, selling of fertility lists, the FBI, etc. A page-turner -- and just think was a great movie it would make!
