Just Say Yes is unlike any other romance I have read so far. When I picked it up, I had no idea about the author or the book. I simply picked it up from a bunch of books.

It is 1757. Treasure Barrett is only 17. But in the village of Culpepper, she is a Thinker. All look upon her to solve their problems. And she does that too, successfully. She has this burning passion for learning. And has a very helpful nature. She can also go anywhere she wishes to as she has the protection of the Squire Darcy Renville and Father Vivant. They have understood her need for knowledge right from when she was a mere child and know she can't be stopped at anything.

And then the Squire dies, his only son Sterling Renville arrives to claim his inheritance--that is what is left of it with the village people's outstanding loans. He takes it upon himself to make the villagers pay those. He has to collect all that his due to him, no matter what. Now it falls on Treasure to help those villagers. After all she is the Thinker! And she does that and more. Now Sterling knows that he is being duped as he can see Treasure everywhere when he comes collecting. It is grand battle of wills between them, each unwilling to let out an inch.

Treasure is nothing like those simpering heroines. She is truly a Thinker and can get out of any situation with her intelligence. Sterling always thinks of profits from everything, even relationships. However, his strong feelings for Treasure gets better of him. When he can't fight with her logic he resorts to passion and even there she gets better of him. Yet the twains meet when Treasure realises that Sterling too is a Thinker in his own way.

With two strong individuals, this novel made a enjoyable read. We also get to learn something about the working of Colonies under British rule. If you are looking for something more than Historical romance, I recommend it. And I am going to look out for more books by Betina Krahn.

I'm picky about romance novels, but this one looks interesting.

This one really does look intriguing. I might have to see if I have the original version tucked away somewhere as I know I have at least one or two Betina Krahn books in my tbr stacks.

Not a big fan of romance (or historical) novels myself though it sounds interesting enough.

I love a romance, but for some reason this one isn't really striking a chord. I like that Treasure is a thinker and learner, though.

Sounds interesting! I'm going to have to check that author out. I always hate it when the woman in the book is supposed to be a simpering idiot an just goes along with the stuff happening around her!
