Great choices! I see a couple there that scared me a lot!
Mrs Reed and Mrs Danvers made my list too. I see some other good ones here too: Scarlett is the best of the worst!
Dolores made my list too. I agree that Scarlett is mean and contriving but she still holds a place in my heart.
Umbridge for sure! My first thought was Aunt Norris in Mansfield Park. She was just awful.
Scarlett O'Hara was the first one to pop into my mind! Great list!
Great choices! I wouldn't have thought of Scarlett, but she certainly is mean. I also had forgotten about the wicked Madam Defarge.
Great List! We have several of the same choices. I also completely agree with Becky Sharp and Scarlett!
Yeah, Mrs. Danvers was absolutely hateful.
Good list.
Here's mine:

I forgot about Becky Sharp and Mme. Defarge! Good picks.
Fantastic list. Many classic mean girls on it.

Great list- I wish I would have thought to put Dolores Umbridge on my list, she is perfect for it!
Good list - we've both got Scarlett on there, she was nasty!
Fabulous list. I also listed Lady MacBeth and Mrs. Danvers and Mrs. Reed. For sure. At first I didn't think I'd get to ten, but I managed. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I wanted to leave my comment here because some of your picks caught my eye. I wholeheartedly agree with you in the instance of Rebecca Sharp and Dolores Umbridge. Happy reading.
Great choices!!
Scarlett O'Hara is a great choice!
Good list!
I'd have put Becky Sharp on my list had I read the book, but I have only seen the latest TV mini-series and I don't know how well that follows the book.
I did have your nos. 3, 4 and 5 on my list.
Lots of classic mean girls here! Cool list.
All of our lists are starting to look pretty similar. Either there aren't very many mean female characters in literature or we've all read the same books. Ha!
Scarlet really was a mean girl! Good choice :)
