Mailbox Monday has moved over to Amy of Passages to the Past for the month of April 2011.

I received the following two books in the the mailbox this week after a long famine!

1) The Nesting Dolls by Gail Bowen

Just hours before her body is found in a car in a parking lot, a young woman hands her baby to a perfect stranger and disappears. The stranger is the daughter of Delia Wainberg, a lawyer in the same firm as Joanne Kilbourn's husband. One close look at the child suggests that there might be a family relationship, and soon the truth about the child Delia gave up for adoption years ago comes out. The boy must be Delia's grandson. Then his mother is found dead, sexually assaulted and murdered. Not only is there a killer on the loose, but the dead woman's partner is demanding custody of the child.

2) Other Eyes by Barbara D'Amato

Blue Eriksen is a famous forensic archaeologist based at Northwestern University. She and her team are traveling the globe, testing mummies to research the use of hallucinogens in the development of ancient religions.  Armed with evidence from ancient peoples, Blue has become convinced that psilocybin--a hallucinogen derived from mushrooms--can prevent or cure drug addiction.  She hopes to develop testing and treatment centers.

Leeuwarden Associates is the cover name for a deeply secret  international organization that facilitates the production, delivery, and sale of illegal drugs worldwide, much as OPEC facilitates the sale of oil.  Leeuwarden considers Blue a long-term threat and sends Felix Hacker--one of their enforcers--to kill her.  Blue has no idea she's being stalked and prepares for a dig high in the Peruvian mountains...

When you were little did other children tease you about your reading habits?

No. Most of my friends were into reading. So it was rather a pleasure exchanging books. Any one of us having a new book meant other children getting to share it! Cool!!
