I must mention here that I read at my own pace and depending on my mood. Don't ask me to hurry.
I finished my second book, Best Intentions by Emily Listfield, 348 pages, for The Second Mystery Read-A-thon.
As I said before, I found it slow. And I don't see it as mystery novel at all. Relationship yes, mystery, no way.
A murder is committed and the identity of the murderer is a foregone conclusion. It definitely doesn't qualify as a engrossing whodunnit. I will write more on my review post.
Coming back, I have finished two books:
Kill for Me by Karen Rose. Pages 416
Best Intentions by Emily Listfield. Pages 338
I have already started the third one:
Prince Rupert's Teardrops by Lisa Glass. I have read 70/217 pages. I am not sure if I am going to finish it today but I don't think that matters.

I read "Best intentions" too and I agree. The mystery arrives pretty late in the book, so it's more of a cross between women fiction and mystery. I still liked it, but it can be disappointing when you're waiting for a typical mystery read!
Congrats on winning a book! I am seeing Best Intentions around a lot lately but I'm not sure if I want to read it.
I didn't even know there was a Mystery Read-a-Thon going on - where have I been?!? It sounds like you had fun with it!
I don't read a lot of mysteries, so the murderer wasn't obvious to me (in BEST INTENTIONS). I didn't like any of the characters, and thought it could have been any of them.
