Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at A Girl and Her Books. Staci from Life in the Thumb is hosting for the month of August.
I received one book, thanks to the author:
1) Close Your Eyes by Amanda Eyre Ward:
For most of her life, Lauren Mahdian has been certain of two things: that her mother is dead, and that her father is a murderer. Here Lauren and her older brother, Alex, thought they were safe. But one morning, six-year-old Lauren and eight-year-old Alex awoke after a night spent in their tree house to discover their mother’s body and their beloved father arrested for the murder. Years later, Lauren is surrounded by uncertainty. Her one constant is Alex, always her protector, still trying to understand the unraveling of his idyllic childhood. Then Alex disappears. As Lauren is forced to peek under the floorboards of her carefully constructed memories, she comes to question the version of her history that she has clung to so fiercely. Lauren’s search for the truth about what happened on that fateful night so many years ago is a riveting tale that will keep readers feverishly turning pages.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila of Book Journey.
I finished two books after SO long:
1) The Abduction by John Grisham
2) Close Your Eyes by Amanda Eyre Ward
If you were (are) going on vacation, what books would you take with you?
I usually pick a book of poetry and lots of crime fiction!

When i go on vacation I pack light, and I also pack light with books.
John Grisham has always been too serious for me. I find I like medical thrillers better.

Wow, Close Your Eyes looks like something I'd enjoy. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
I haven't read a crime novel in ages! I went through a stage of reading lots of Karen Slaughter's books - might have to look out for another one!

Can't wait to see your review of the Grisham book...wondering if it was very legalegese, that's why I stopped reading his books.
Hi Gautami,
John Grisham never fails to leave me wanting more, I love his style of writing.
Amanda Ward is a new name to me, and I just love the sound of this book. A mystery and crime combination, together with some great sounding characterizations of Lauren, Alex and their relationship, this has gone straight to my reading list and I look forward to your review.
