I've got "Room" sitting on my shelf right now - hope to get to it soon. And I agree about the library question, although when I first went to school, we didn't have one. Each classroom had its own little library area.
I can't imagine a school without a library! It would be wrong. I spent quite a bit of time in the school library growing up. I'm not sure if I would be as big of a reader if that had not been an option for me.
No Library in a school, really, how does that even get discussed.

Yes, every school does need a library,must add Room to my list.
Not only a library but a librarian. I was shocked when I taught in a school without a librarian. It had a room full of books but the organizational scheme was "different" and trying to use the library to teach was impossible.

A school without a library is like a cake with no frosting, bland and tasteless.
I've read Room and The Time Travelers Wife- both good, quick reads.
Every school needs to have a library, even if they can't fund it. As a teacher I love having a place where I can direct kids, on campus, for resources or pleasure.
ROOM is so good - I hope you enjoyed it too :)
