TSS: July Wrap up

The hot and humid July was not conducive for reading for me. My school reopened after vacations. I was hit by a bike and to top it all, I ended up with flu! Still I managed to finish 7 books (Click on the titles to read my reviews):

The Lost Book of Salem by Katherine Howe*
The Wolves' Keeper Legend by Sylvia Weber
The Jewel Trader of Pegu by Jeffrey Hantover
One Scream Away by Kate Brady
The Texicans by Nina Vida

Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks*
A Bird in the House by Margaret Laurence

However, July was not a total waste. I wrote a lot of poetry, which I think is a good thing.

And I have already finished one book in August:

Mare's War by Tanita S. Davis. Review posted already. Click on the title!

Writing a lot of poetry is definitely a good thing! I do think it's worth spending time doing things other than reading if that's what you're compelled to do.

Well done on compiling your list. I need to do mine. I need to get round to reading Year of Wonders. I have this one and March by Geraldine Brooks. YOu know I am desperate to read The Lost Book of Salem too.

Great list. And I think that 7 books is quite good. I have always considered myself quite the reader, but judging from the book-bloggers, I am not by any chance near some of you ;o)

Hope you feel better now! I was on a business trip in Asia during the first part of July, and my GOSH it was hot and humid, so no wonder the humidity did nothing good to your reading.

Have a great day

Between the bike and the flu, July was a rough month for you. August has got to be better. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. :-)

I am such a slacker! I didn't read much more than you and I managed to avoid bikes and flu!

Seriously, tho, you really didn't have a great month. Hope you're starting to feel energetic and whole again.

Congrats on reading and reviewing 7 books! (As you know, I also read 7, but I'm not so good at reviewing them all right away!)

Your July doesn't sound like a waste at all! Given everything that happened to you, I'm very impressed with what you accomplished :-D

In spite of all that happened to you, you still read almost 2 books a week - that's pretty great!

I sincerely doubt that I'd get as much read as you have, if I'd been having your month. That looks like a lovely list to me.

And I do hope you're feeling better and August will turn out to be a kinder month for you!

I have The Wolves' Keeper Legend on my wishlist too. ^-^

I think you did pretty well in July. I usually only read about 8 at most a month, but since I was on vacation for a week in July, I managed 11.

Hope you are over the flu! July looks like it was a great reading month, and writing poetry is always a good thing.

That's a great list and the poetry certainly counts as a very good thing!

Gautami, you certainly have had a bad trot (that's Australian for bad run of luck). I hope August is better.)

I am happy to have found your blog again. I lost some of my listings awhile back. Looks like you have had quite a good time of reading lately.

With all that went on in your life last month, I'm surprised you read that many books! I hope you didn't send the flu all the way to my house! I'm sick right now. :(
