Mondays: Mailbox/Musings/Whereabouts

Monday Mailbox is hosted by Marcia.

I received only one book:

The Cutting by James Haymen

From Publishers Weekly

A former NYPD detective, McCabe relocated to raise his 13-year-old daughter in a supposedly safer place and to escape a nasty divorce. When a young woman disappears soon after the body of a 16-year-old girl turns up in a scrap yard with her heart neatly cut out, McCabe fears a serial killer is on the loose. McCabe's investigation leads him and his partner, Det. Maggie Savage, to a prominent cardiac surgeon specializing in transplants. Racing against the clock even as he uncovers more victims, McCabe is determined to find the killer and rescue the missing woman before time runs out.

In the past week:

I am in midst of reading:

The Cutting by James Haymen

I plan to read:

anything that interests me

I posted reviews of:

Lethal People by John Locke
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

Musing Mondays2 Do you – or are you even able – to do other things while you read? Do you knit, hold a conversation, keep an eye on the TV? Anything?

I can't do anything while I am reading. Except perhaps listening to music. Only while reading, my musti-tasking skills gets derailed.

Can you manage anything else while reading?

  1. Wow, The Cutting sounds like quite a book. Once I'm into a book, I can tune out the world while I read.

  3. The Cutting sounds like an intriguing read! My post will be up later today.

As for musing; I can't stand anything while I read. I like to be left alone to get lost in the story. No music, tv or otherwise for me.

If the book or tv show is not too involved I can do both at the same time.

  13. Cutting Edge really sound exciting. I love murder mysteries.

I am one of those readers who cannot do anything but read. No TV, radio, or talking or I get distracted. Would love to be able to read anywhere anytime, but I also need the comfort of a soft chair to kick back in.

  15. I decided a long time ago that in my next life I want to be Lisbeth Salander (from Girl With the Dragon Tattoo). You're right -- she makes the books. Wait until you read Girl Who Played With Fire...she's in even better form there!

    have a good reading week.
