Booking Through In Public

Do you carry books with you when you’re out and about in the world? And, do you ever try to hide the covers?

Yes, of course I carry books around with me all the time. Sometimes it maybe what I am currently reading, or a book of poetry or some scientific journal. I am a reader, and I do flaunt that fact to all and sundry! About hiding the covers, I do it if it is something explicit, or a romance novel. That is rare but nevertheless, I try to hide those covers! Maybe everyone does that...

    Point taken on the explicit cover but thinking about it I never had ever covered a book before. :) And thumbs up for flaunting too! Be proud to be reading in public.

    I always have more than one. I am always prepared if I get stuck somewhere and finish the one that I was reading. Everything I Carry With Me

    i've heard romance novel sales have gone up since e-readers came around -- you can now read romance without being embarrassed :)

    I love sharing what I'm reading with others! your comment on romance novel covers made me smile because back when I used to read those, I would hide the cover. But I don't read romance novels anymore so its a non-issue now.

    I only carry books when I think I'll have a chance to read. I don't hide the covers.

    I bring my Nook or a book wherever I go. I figure you never know when you'll have some waiting time on your hands :)

    As for covers, yes when I read romances more, I would hide the covers. Some were really embarrassing. LOL

    Scientific journals? Sweet! There are a couple of pop-science magazines I read, but no actual journals like Nature. Which do you read?

    Isn't reading like breastfeeding. Many different styles. I never got into the blanket thing, so I guess I would never hide a book cover, but being respectful of others is good I guess. You should see some music CDs covers.
