When is the last time you read a history book? Historical biography? You know, something that took place in the past but was REAL.
I used to read a lot of History. Indian as well as World History. But now I read history via historical novels. I know that is not enough. I should get back to reading History books. SOON.
Go for something saucy to keep your ettention, like Eleanor Herman's Sex with Kings, 500 years of Adultary, Power, Rivalry and Revenge or her similar book on Queens. :) Those two are on my TBR pile. :)

I'm not really interested in reading history books....
ReplyDeleteTRISH- Here's my BTT Post
I have to agree with you! As much as I try to get into certain books that contain history, I find myself checking out other fictional works. Life is so busy these days, it's nice to get wrapped up in something that is exciting where it's not entirely real.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! :)

ReplyDeleteThis was pretty close to my answer for this week, too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really read any actual non-fiction outside of college... Though this post makes me want to seek out 'good' ones!
ReplyDeleteHere is my answer!
I like a little bit of both, real and fiction.

Both fiction and non fiction history can be good, depending on the author and subject.

I think the last history book I read was The Lion and that's been well over a year ago.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with historical fiction! It is one of my favourite genres and I'm sure there's more history in them than we realise (she says hopefully?!!) ;)

Good historical fiction can be the way to go. It helps keep it interesting.
ReplyDeleteI do like some history here and there, though. Here's my BTT: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/08/booking-through-thursday-history.html
