Booking through Non-theatericals

btt buttonName one book that you hope never, ever, ever gets made into a movie (no matter how good that movie might be.)

Any crime fiction with serial killings. I don't like to watch those. I can read but a movie on that, no. I am totally against it!

  1. I never thought of answering it that way. For me it's any horror book. I can happily read them but when it comes to films I am a big coward.

  2. This could hold true for me, too. I think that I answered this differently than anyone else so far in that I thought about how much movies tend to miss when they attempt to redo books.

  3. I had not thought of the question this broad.

  4. I agree, sometimes it's much better is you just let your imagination make the movie for you.

  5. I can see your point. I hate those types of movies as well. I've watched a few before, but I really don't see the point in spending the weekend freaked out because I watched an absurdly scary movie.

  6. I'm with you - I can read stuff like that, but I don't want to watch it.

  7. I'm with you. I really hate being scared during movies and I hate gore even more. Give me drama or comedy any day!

  8. That is a little surprising for me because in my head I can make the visual description so much seem so much worse in my head then watching on film. Or so it use to be...

  9. I agree with this vis-a-vis movies, but for some reason it's not the same with TV! I LOVE the show Dexter as well as other murder-serial-killer-crime-solving-shows! Also, I love the broad answer to the BTT question; here's mine:

  10. Actually I don't mind a mystery/serial killer theme as long as it doesn't cross over into the horror/mindless killing movie.

  12. I agree it is harder to see than to read brutal viloence. For me it is animal cruelty. I hate it in a book, but it will make me cry if I see it on screen.
