Booking through Cheating



Do you cheat and peek at the ends of books? (Come on, be honest.)

As I usually read Crime Fiction, I am certainly not tempted to look at the ending. I don't want it spoiled for me. But if a novel is going slow, I do skip a bit and also check the ending.

I don't call it cheating!! Why should I waste my time reading a book which goes SLOW?

    Yeah, it would really spoil things to skip ahead in a mystery/thriller book...

    I do peek at the end of the book - when they have romance in there. I love my happy endings.

    I don't skip to the end, but I don't call it cheating when other people do.

    Not a sneak peeker. If I am going to give up on the book I do check the end to see if I can figure out what happened.

    Exactly. Since most of the books I read are mysteries, I wouldn't want to spoil things by reading the ending first.

    I freak even if I accidentally turn to the last page and see the last words. I am of the sort that cannot read the end before the beginning.

    Like you, I sometimes skip to the end, but it depends on the book. While reading the Harry Potter series, for example, I restrained myself from skipping to the end to get the answers I wanted quickly. :)

    I don't look at endings, even in books that are not crime or suspense. However, I have done just what you do. If a book is not grabbing me right away I'll look and sometimes the ending will be such that I want to go back and weave my way through the slow stuff.

    I have a daughter that ALWAYS does that! I just want to smack her! I honestly don't think I've ever done it; I just want the book to progress at it's pace and let the ending surprise me :)
