I received four books, in the past week:
1) A Dangerous Affair by Caro Peacock
2) Voltaire's Calligrapher by Pablo De Santis
3) The Wake of Forgiveness by Bruce Machart
4) Sometimes Mine by Martha Moody

I am still reading
Stieg Larsson's The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
My slump is going on!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you prefer hardcovers, trade paperbacks (the bigger ones), or mass market paperbacks (the smaller ones)? Why?
I like Trade paperbacks best. Lighter in weight, easier on the eyes and easier to carry. Hard covers are good on the shelf but heavier to carry!
Sorry you're still struggling with your slump.
ReplyDeleteI am there with you for the slump. I haven't even finished one book this week!
ReplyDeleteI am in a perfectly horrid reading slump too. It stinks. I am so behind on book tours. I think one of my goals for next year is to accept less review copies and read down some of my TBR and hopefully enjoy reading again.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you just don't like Larsson's book. I tried the first book in the series and it bored me to tears.
ReplyDeleteLast week was a nice mixture of research, picture books and reading for fun. Here's what I'm reading this week.
Enjoy your new books. Wake of Forgiveness sounds good. Hope your slump goes away soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll enjoy your mailbox books. Sorry about the slump - I think it happens to most readers.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably the only one who hasn't read the Stieg Larsson series - they just don't appeal to me.
For me, it all depends on what type of book I like. My full answer is here.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get out of your slump soon!
I look forward to your review of Voltaire's Calligrapher by Pablo De Santis!
ReplyDeleteI think I would get in a reading slump also, if I had to read review books. I prefer to read what I choose to read, than the pressure is off, and the reading is enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteMusing Mondays, I read all but I do have my favorite.
@gramma ann: The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's nest is definitely not a review book! And many others too!
ReplyDeleteI'm responding to the Musing Mondays...I'll be back later with my link to the other...I know, I wish I could post them all at once, but I try to do my other Monday memes on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI like your answers...here's what I wrote:
Your new books sound very literary. Hope you like them! My mailbox is at The Crowded Leaf.
ReplyDeleteGoing to look up a Dangerous Affair.
ReplyDeleteHang in there the slump is a bump and will soon be a speed bump of the past. Hope the week gets better for you :)
Sorry about your slump. I think it happens to us all at some point. It will pass eventually. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI hope that reading slump disappears soon!
ReplyDeleteI have not moved on from the first Dragon Tattoo book but want to. Hope your slump ends soon. :)
ReplyDeleteSlumps are not good. Hope yours ends soon!
ReplyDeleteI like trade paperbacks, too. And hardcovers. I don't take books anywhere, so size isn't that much of an issue.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'm in a slump or just a slow reader...last year at this time I had read 2 times as many books as I have this year. Oh well, at least I'm still reading and loving it.
Hi Gautami,
ReplyDeleteI read A Dangerous Affair. I liked it but not enough to pick up the next book in the series. I hope you like it more.
I received two books.
I hope one of your books will help your reading slump.
ReplyDeleteHope the slump passes soon! Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeletethe trade seem to have it!
ReplyDeleteI just read a review of "Voltaire's Calligrapher" which had me toss it right onto my to-buy list! Enjoy the reads!
