Do you divide your books into day and night reads? How do you decide?
When I was in high school or college I used to divide my books for the day and night. The books I wanted to show off, I carried with me and those I didn't wish to be seen reading, I kept at home and read in the nights.
Now I can read anything, any time. Even poetry. Frankly, what has the hour of the day got to do with reading habits?
I like to read in bed at night so I will choose something lighter for then and keep something that needs my full attention for the day.
ReplyDeleteI more or less stick to one book, be it day or night.
ReplyDeleteChoosing a book to read in public on the basis of showing off ... I will confess to having done that!
ReplyDeleteI just read one book at a time, no matter what time of the day.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting how we mature - even in our reading!

ReplyDeleteI used to show off some of my books too, but since only a few of my friends are fellow bookworms, the attention wasn't exactly overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteI agree you should read any book at any time :) Well there are a few that would be embarrassing in public :P
ReplyDeleteWhen you get scared with what you are reading. Books like that are best read during day time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by.
Just over the last month I find myself reading different books during different times of the day. Since I've been participating in The Handmaid's Tale readalong I've been reading that in the afternoon, which has allowed me to stay on track with the reading schedule. And then in the evenings I've been reading a combination of review books, book club selections, or The Passage. Boy do I hope I can finish The Passage this weekend! I've been reading that sucker for over a month!
ReplyDeleteI don't care much what anyone else thinks but I do care about what I myself think, so at night I prefer books that don't cause nightmares...
ReplyDeleteYou are the second one that says that they used to carry books that made them seem intelligent !
ReplyDeleteI don't divide my books by day or night. Here is my answer for Booking Through Thursday.
ReplyDeleteI so had to guffaw to recall my vanity when I did try to make sure certain book titles upped my status. I was once a non-fiction by day and a fiction at evening but now mostly read as I please. Hope it's a fine, fine day for you.
ReplyDeleteI just have so much reading to do that I can usually only squeeze in pleasure reading at night.
ReplyDeleteYes, time of day (or night) really doesn't matter much. "Anything, anytime" is the way I read, too!
