Booking through Day and Night

btt button

Do you divide your books into day and night reads? How do you decide?

When I was in high school or college I used to divide my books for the day and night. The books I wanted to show off, I carried with me and those I didn't wish to be seen reading, I kept at home and read in the nights.

Now I can read anything, any time. Even poetry. Frankly, what has the hour of the day got to do with reading habits?

  1. I like to read in bed at night so I will choose something lighter for then and keep something that needs my full attention for the day.

  7. I used to show off some of my books too, but since only a few of my friends are fellow bookworms, the attention wasn't exactly overwhelming.

  8. I agree you should read any book at any time :) Well there are a few that would be embarrassing in public :P

  9. When you get scared with what you are reading. Books like that are best read during day time.

  10. Just over the last month I find myself reading different books during different times of the day. Since I've been participating in The Handmaid's Tale readalong I've been reading that in the afternoon, which has allowed me to stay on track with the reading schedule. And then in the evenings I've been reading a combination of review books, book club selections, or The Passage. Boy do I hope I can finish The Passage this weekend! I've been reading that sucker for over a month!

  11. I don't care much what anyone else thinks but I do care about what I myself think, so at night I prefer books that don't cause nightmares...

  14. I so had to guffaw to recall my vanity when I did try to make sure certain book titles upped my status. I was once a non-fiction by day and a fiction at evening but now mostly read as I please. Hope it's a fine, fine day for you.

  16. Yes, time of day (or night) really doesn't matter much. "Anything, anytime" is the way I read, too!
