I finished:
Last Last Chance by Fiona Maazel
I am still in the midst of reading:
Lamentation by Ken Scholes
I posted reviews of:
Inside Out by Barry Eisler
Virgin Widow by Anne O'Brien

Actually I can. I do it all the time. In trains, in waiting rooms, TV in the background, loud music (that is, rock) playing. People talking. Etc etc. With a book I can simply close the world out.
For my reading, it doesn't really matter if it is quiet or noisy. I can read in any environment.

Monday Mailbox is hosted by Marcia.
I didn't receive a single book! How is that?! *grin*
I need a quiet week like that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not feeling like reading right now...wonder if it's contagious!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
I like the book you are reading now and hope you have a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteJust letting you know the link to Inside Out review is incorrect. You might want to fix that up. :) I've read only 2 books a week for the past 2 weeks...this week is looking the same.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my post, and feel free to enter my contest.
Thanks Cass! I fixed the link.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the quiet. Here's mine
ReplyDeleteno books this week. that's a bummer, but it looks like you are occupying yourself with some other great reads. have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMondays are full of memes, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI should put mine all in one place, but I haven't yet.
I'm responding to the Musing:

Especially if the book is good....
ReplyDeleteIt is not that I do not mind the noise...I need it. I am afraid I am one of those TV on, as background noise, all the time folks. I read, write, work...do everything with the 'distraction'.
That's ok - gives you the chance to catch up some. Have a fun week.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books you have listed, but they sound interesting and I've added a couple to my wish list.
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week!
I actually like when the doctor is running late, so I can spend some quiet time reading in the waiting room! (Terrible, I know.)
ReplyDeleteAre you going to read the sequel to Scholes' book? I've heard it's really good.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week! I'll check back soon.
Well, a quiet week means more time to clear some books off the shelf. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a blessing, Trust Me!!! My to-read pile is like 19 books and I'm beginning to panic because more keeps coming in. : ) I hope you have a wonderful week though.
ReplyDeleteSometimes quiet weeks are good. Maybe next week will be better.
ReplyDeleteTwo new books for me to check out - I haven't heard of the one you finished or the one you are reading now.
ReplyDeleteI agree about reading with distractions - I use to not be able to do it, but now it's no problem.
My book receiving has greatly slowed down and I am happy about it. I couldn't keep up the pace of the books coming in compared to being read. Still digging myself out :)
ReplyDeleteLamentation sounds good!
I have 3 kids, so reading amid distractions is my life. :-) I find that, like you, I can read in any environment, unless the book is particularly challenging or I'm especially tired.
ReplyDeleteWell you have time to catch up on anything else that tickles your fancy this week, gautami tripathy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
I can read just about anywhere, under any circumstances, too. But I do prefer a quiet space with good lighting. Doesn't always happen that way, though.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy all your reading this week!
No books this week? I do not know how you managed that one. I got in the mail today after my post went up The Lady Elizabeth by Alison Weir in hardback from my wish list on paperbackswap.
ReplyDeleteI think a slow week is sometimes a good thing -- gives you a chance to catch up. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the quiet to do my reading.
ReplyDeleteI didn't receive anything until Saturday. I expected to be skipping the meme this week. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your poetry blog link. Pussreboots.
