What items have you ever used as a bookmark? What is the most unusual item you’ve ever used or seen used?
I have a lot of bookmarks and mostly I use those. However, I also use boarding passes, bus tickets, or any rectangular piece of card that is handy. I am not very fastidious although I do have a leather bookmark that I really love. I can use anything that I can lay my hands on. A few times I have also placed my comb or my cellphone to mark my place. Is that gross?
I've never thought of using a phone! Generally though it's just whatever is lying around that's most convenient

I never used a comb or my cellphone, but if that's what's handy there's nothing wrong with that. I used to be more into collecting bookmarks. I'm not anymore. I use whatever I have.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's gross! Maybe if you used a pair of old pants or something but not a cellphone lol.
ReplyDeleteI use any scrap of paper that's near at hand. I might use a comb in a pinch, but never thought of a cell phone before! (it would have to be pretty skinny).

ReplyDeleteMe too - I'll use most anything that's at hand. But I also have a few favorites that I use over and over. Haven't used my cellphone yet - it's a little too thick to fit in a book.

I've finally gotten into the habit of using bookmarks, or receipts, or scraps of paper, instead of dog-earing pages. I'm improving.

ReplyDeleteI use whatever's handy too...nail file, dollar bill, piece of gum or a gum wrapper. It's funny, too, because I have sooo many book marks. I'm trying to be better about using them as soon as I start the book, so then it's always there.

I try to keep bookmarks around the house so I don't have to grab something that I should not use as a bookmark.
