1) Posturing (Page 325):

: to assume a posture ; especially : to strike a pose for effect
: to assume an artificial or pretended attitude : attitudinize

2) Donnish (page325)

: of, relating to, or characteristic of a university don

  8. I had the same thoughts as Avis - I knew "posturing" (and I actually use it, with all its negative conotations), but did a double-take a the definition. It used a word I hadn't before heard/read: "attitudinize" Sounds made-up, doesn't it?!
