Stuck forever and ever!

btt button

“This can be a quick one. Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.”

That shouldn't be difficult, I think! Ok, let's start:

1) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
2) Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
3) Three Men in A boat by Jerome K Jerome
4) Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
5) David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
6) Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
7) The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
8) To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
9) The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy
10) The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
11) The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
12) Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
13) The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
14) My Father's Paradise by Ariel Sabar
15) The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway

All done in 11 minutes, not bad, eh! All the classics I had read while I was a teenager and how they have stayed with me.

And I must add 5 more to it. Not that it ends there!

16) Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
17) Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
18) The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder
19) Paradise Place by Warwick Deeping
20) Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

How about you?

  4. Although not on my list I agree with 1, 2, 10, 16 & 18. Numbers 6, 9 and 20 are on my list. It's too hard to stick to 15!

  10. Great list! I almost put "Gone With the Wind" on mine, too. I guess it's hard for most people to stick to just fifteen books. I could have gone on and on!

  12. I think that I am the only one who doesn't have ANY classics on their lists! Maybe because we had to read them in school I just didn't enjoy them. I am definitely in the minority!

  15. Awesome list! You have some great, great titles on there! And no, I can't imagine that you could stop at 15 books! (I, on the other hand, fell flat at 9!)

  22. I love your list, which would constitute a thoughtful literature course!

    My full list.

I still haven't read The Kite Runner...

  23. I am agreeing with you on a lot of the books you put out there, especially classics. If I had to make a list, classics would take up the first 15 slots definitely.

  31. Such a good list and yet I do not have a single one on my list. How does that happen? So many books. so little time. Happy reading!

  32. This is an excellent reading list, one that would prepare you for college. The fact that classics stick with their readers is probably the main thing that makes them classics.

  33. The Fountainhead was a good read - I had forgotten about that one. Thanks for stopping by today.

  34. I had to laugh that you couldn't keep the list to 15! I have a heard time keeping to the limit, too.

  35. Great list! I have a couple of the books in my TBR pile and some of them on my wish list.
