Booking through Rut

btt button

Do you ever feel like you’re in a reading rut? That you don’t read enough variety? That you need to branch out, spread your literary wings and explore other genres, flavors, styles?

I don't think I am in a rut. Except for YA/paranormal stuff, I read everything. I can read the most difficult of books. There are some books I can't get into but that is only after trying to read those. For fantasy, I can't read too much of it. The Zombie books, Vampire one all seem to be clones of each other. Read one, read them all!

Romance novels are my guilty pleasures. When I am in a reading slack, they help me get into it. As do Crime Fiction, which contain a vast genre...

At the end of the day, I don't believe in ruts or gluts...

My guilty pleasure are Verse Novels but love my Thriller and Suspense genre.

I find trying to hard or reading outside of my norm sometimes creaets the reading rut.

I like the light romance with a bit of a mystery thrown in. That is my guilty pleasure.

Like Marce, if I try reading outside my norm, that can sometimes causes me to take a long time finishing the book. I don't think that is a rut. Since I read for pleasure, I more or less stay with the genres I enjoy.

I've been through many reading phases but wouldn't really call that being stuck in a rut.

I do like specific genres of books but I'm not afraid to give anything a try even if it turns out I don't like it.

I do get into a rut and sometimes I'll gorge on mystery books and then my reading can branch out again.

Sometimes I find myself getting stuck and I need to change it up but my brain will usually lead me in the right direction if I'm getting over saturated. ;O)
