Monday: Musing/Whereabouts/Mailbox

When is it inappropriate to read in front of others? Is it ever appropriate?

When one invites people over and then reads, I think that is extremely rude. Otherwise I read pretty much everywhere unless I am baby-sitting or entertaining someone.

I read while travelling or waiting. Keeps me busy and also helps in closing the world out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I finished:
The Marshall and the Heiress by Patricia Potter (344)
The Courship by Catherine Coulter (331)
The Switch by Sandra Brown (Pages 550)
Life Support by Tess Gerritsen (Pages 369)
I plan to read:
Anything that holds my interest
I posted reviews of:
Six Seconds by Rick Mofina
Tintin and King Ottokar's Sceptre
White Picket Fences by Susan Meissner
The Last Bachelor by Betina Krahn
Not Quite a Husband by Sherry Thomas
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Monday Mailbox is hosted by Marcia

I didn't receive a single book this past week.

I agree about not reading when you have company over. But Serena and I do that to each other, maybe because we're more like family and we both are reading while the guys are playing video games.

I agree ---reading in front of others is rude, unless of course they'd like a little quiet time and brought their own book along >>>LOL

I try never to go to appointments or anywhere there might be a wait without a book with me. But if someone is trying to talk to me, I won't read (unless it's my husband - ha ha!)

I agree with what you said!!

I feel more justified to read when my company is all engaged in an activity. I always read over coffee and my friends respect that.

Hi, here is my answer - a good talking point and I think it can vary depending on who you are with.

I've had weeks with an empty mailbox - sometimes it's a relief *smile*

A good time to play catch up. I would be willing to bet you have something to read anyway. :)

I'd agree with not reading in front of people who are visiting you but I'd make an exception for family. Otherwise I don't know that I could survive the visits. ;-)

How sad to have an empty mailbx. may it be overflowing with good reads this week!

This will be a great week to get caught up on your reading stack.

Good answer to Musing Mondays, I think it would definitely be rude to read in front of guests! My mailbox is at The Crowded Leaf.

I tend not to read when company is over, unless it is Anna! LOL Like she said we'd rather read in our company than watch boys play football on the wii!

Sorry to hear you didn't get any books, but I'll be remedying that for you shortly.

Reading is a no-no when company is over, unless you're hosting a read-a-thon!

I really want to read Rick Mofina's book, but never found the time.

Have fun reading this week!
