Booking through funny bone

btt button

What’s the funniest book you’ve read recently?

Going through my archives, I find that I have not read real funny books lately. That may be one reason, why am so down and out and kind of unreading mode. I do need to change my reading a bit and add at least one funny book a month.

However, I did find three Colin Cotterill books, which were funny because of Dr Siri Paiboun, the 73-year-old coroner of Laos, who has the spirit of Yeh Mind, thousand- year-old Shaman sharing his his body and who is a detective too when it needs be. Coterill's books are funny with that underlying note of seriousness. Do check out my reviews of the following by Colin Cotterill:

The Merry Misogynist
Curse of the Pogo Stick
Disco of the Departed

Now I better check out more funny books for my reading pleasure!

I'm finding most regular readers don't read many funny books. I suppose reading's too serious.

You'll find mine here

You know, it's funny that you say that you've been down lately because I've been thinking the same thing. As Anthony said, I'm finding that most regular readers aren't reading funny things. That doesn't mean they're reading non-fiction; it just means that they're reading deep fiction.
A professor once told me that philosophy students had the most nightmares of any of the disciplines. I think there's something to reading things that make a reader think "too much". Here's to finding SOMETHING lighter!

I haven't read any of that. I heard rumour that the funniest book I had read will soon be translated into English :)

Dawn French's autobiography made me laugh at the beginning of the year, but other than that I can't think of any.

It is a good change to read something different every once in awhile. I know that after I have read a few books on serious subjects, it's always nice to laugh out loud at something! Books that make me laugh always stay with me, too...I never forget them.
