Booking through niche

btt button

There are certain types of books that I more or less assume all readers read. (Novels, for example.)

But then there are books that only YOU read. Instructional manuals for fly-fishing. How-to books for spinning yarn. How to cook the perfect souffle. Rebuilding car engines in three easy steps. Dog training for dummies. Rewiring your house without electrocuting yourself. Tips on how to build a NASCAR course in your backyard. Stuff like that.

What niche books do YOU read?

That's interesting. I read books on home remedies. Can't resist any if I see one. Not that I follow those. I like to read those. Thats all. Then books on hair and skin care. I gravitate towards those too. Lots of books based on Ayurveda are available on the above topics. I got plenty. My SIL too gets those for me.

I too like to read books on home decor. Just looking at those pictures is very satisfying. I am always on the lookout for Origami books. Then those books on Mathematical/science models, along with Electronics interest me no end.

I might as well add it here. My mom likes books on gardening. So I get those for her along with books on crocheting and sewing. As for as crocheting is concerned, I am all thumbs!

I have plenty of books about home decor as well and I agree that just looking at the pictures is fun. I used to have a kiddie origami book too. :)

I like books on home remedies too. I prefer reading them to actually putting them into practice as well.

I like looking at home decor books for decorating kids' rooms, even though I know I will never be this energetic/creative in my own home.

I love home remedies. But I usually research for them on the web. I have tried quite a few, but a lot of the time they are just not as practical as getting a jar of something from the pharmacy!

I have a couple of books on hair and skin care but I don't really read them , just go through them occasionally.

This weeks BTT question was a really nice way to get to know some of the interest of our fellow bloggers.

Happy BTT! Here's my post.

Oh, I don't mind reading books on home decor! I always go 'oohed' and 'aahed' by the glossy pictures they featured!

I like to look at home decor books too. I'm always a little jealous that my house will probably never be so beautiful.

I used to buy loads of home decor books, but over the years I just got rid of them. I think it was when I realised my hubby was never gonna decorate the house the way I wanted him too. It has taken him nearly three months to finish painting the dining room.

Home remedies sounds like a fun topic and there are a ton of books out there on the subject.

I have a book on home remedies- for my plants. Tonics for sick plants, bug deterrents, health boosters- it's very useful.

I love origami, but never could do it myself! I bet you make beautiful things!

You have a very impressive list of "niches." I like books on home decor, too. And I love Origami, although I don't have any books about it.

You made me remember that I enjoy looking at architectural books too. (Probably because I worked for a custom home builder for nearly ten years.)I like to fantasize about my dream home!

I love origami books! I used to work in an arts and crafts store, and I spent so much time going through those books, but I am absolutely unable to do anything!

Mine was on art books and photography books! :)

Ayurveda is an interesting one. I've researched holistic medicine for myself quite a while ago and it came into play for one of my stories.

I do read books about gardening, too, but a lot of them tend to be in my elderly reference material section, like Sunset books from the 70s or books on fragrant flowers from 1910.

I should have put origami in mine too...I don't really understand the question till I read few replies.

Mine is about superstitious in Japan

I'm too impatient to get good at origami. I bought a book on paper craft for the origami section and ended up discovering decoupage instead.

I like those home decor books myself, they give me inpsiration!

Since you are an expert on origami books... :P Do you happen to know if the Master of Origami David Mitchell is one and the same as Mitchell the author of Cloud Atlas?

I've been wondering about this for a while now. On Amazon the books appear to be of 1 person but I'm really not sure if that's correct; it's probably an automatic process that links the titles together by name.

Exactly! I have some diet books in which horribly blank food which you ll know it is would be made to look unbelievably delicious! O that reminds me.. I was just looking for ayurveda related blogs and i saw this super cool post.. HERE... check it out!
