Sharing Poetry

I wish to share this with all of my blogger friends. This was posted to me from Poetry Daily's Poet's Pick April 15, 2009 and it has stayed in my mind. For those who love poetry, I wish that you explore more on it. We need to find more of worthy poetry. Everyday.

"In the desert"
from The Black Riders
by Stephen Crane (1871-1900)

In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said: “Is it good, friend,”
“It is bitter—bitter,” he answered;
“But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart.”

Do check out more of his poetry here.
